Pilot Parking Program for South of Fifth Restaurant Employees

The City of Miami Beach is launching a Pilot Parking Program designed to support the restaurant workforce in the South of Fifth neighborhood. The program offers two affordable parking options exclusively for restaurant employees in the area.
The program will begin accepting registrations on Friday, May 16, 2025, and parking will become available on Friday, May 23, 2025. The pilot is planned for one year and will be reviewed for effectiveness and future viability.

Eligible Area:

This program is available only to restaurants located within the South of Fifth area:

North-South boundaries: From Fifth Street to South Pointe Drive
East-West boundaries: From Alton Road to Ocean Drive

Available Parking Options:

Option 1: South Pointe Elementary School Parking Lot
- Location: 1050 4th Street (Entrance on Michigan Ave near 3rd Street)
- Availability:
  
  Monday–Thursday: 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
  
  Weekends: Friday 6:00 p.m. through Monday 3:00 a.m.
  
  Note: Lot must be cleared for school hours; block-out dates apply
- Spaces: 60
- Cost: $90/month plus applicable taxes
- Notes:
  
  Vehicles must be registered; tracked via license plate
  
  Unauthorized or overtime parking will result in towing

Option 2: Fifth and Alton Parking Garage
- Location: Fifth Street & Alton Road (Entrance on Lenox Ave between 5th and 6th Streets)
- Availability: 24/7 access, no time restrictions
- Spaces: 100
- Cost: $100/month plus applicable taxes

  Vehicles tracked via license plate

  Nearby transportation: South Beach Trolley Loops A & B, Citi Bike stations

Employers should register employees promptly

How to Register:

To participate, restaurant owners or managers should submit a list of eligible employees. This can be either:

Copies of vehicle registrations, or A spreadsheet including:

Employee name
Vehicle tag number
Make, model & color
